Ingredients

  • Rolled oats – 1/2 cup (certified gluten-free, if needed )

  • Water – 2 to 3 cups (as per thickness of milk desired)

  • Pinch of Salt

  • Whole dates – 1 to 2 , pitted

  • Vanilla extract – 1/2 tsp (optional)

Directions

  • Add water, dates, vanilla extract (optional) to a high speed blender and blend it until the dates are broken down.
  • Now add oats to the blender and blend it for about 20 to 30 seconds. Make sure oats is added only after the first step, as over blending of oats will make the texture slimy.
  • Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer and tap on the sides for the liquid to strain through. Do not press the pulp with a spoon as the resulting milk can get slimy.
  • Enjoy the milk right away or store it in an air tight container in the refrigerator for 5 days.
