Typical falafel is made by deep frying and needs a long list of ingredients, but if I tell you, this falafel recipe is made from just 6 ingredients and also without deep frying, we are winning baby! And what more? These falafels are made from mung beans and are super easy on digestion making them the healthiest version of falafel you will ever know! and which also means you would not go wrong even if you over indulge in them, I promise 😁
Sprouted Mung bean falafel

Sprouted Mung beans – 2 cup
Fresh herbs – ½ cup ( mix of coriander and mint )
Cumin powder – ½ tsp
Coriander powder – ½ tsp
Coconut oil – ½ tsp + 1 to 2 Tbsp ( for frying )
Salt – ¼ tsp
Sesame seeds to drizzle ( optional )
- In a mixer jar, add all the falafel ingredients and grind them coarsely, scraping the sides constantly. Do not add any water while grinding.
- As they reach bindable consistency scoop them into hands with the spoon and press them to make round patty. Place the patties on heated pan and drizzle some oil over it.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of patties and press them gently with spoon. Fry them for 3 to 5 minutes on each side.
- Serve the falafel with mayonnaise/chutney/dip of your choice and enjoy.
